Another Project with design involved an established brand that we would need to keep accurate but with a personal spin of a new fictional product. For this example, the concept was a summertime tea flavor for the tea brand Harney and Sons. I wanted to approach it with loyalty to the brand for its consumers to recognize, and for new consumers to try.
A crucial part of design is getting all the elements not only orgniazed, but readily available to those who will consume and view and use the design. With this project, the arrangement mattered and helped to bring it together. Much of the parts between sketch and design get changed with critique and redirection.
Finally, the product can be put into simulation with a little photoshop and effects. I wanted to deliver some summertime fun with brand loyalty, and I feel strongly that I can maintain and reach my set goals.
I was introduced to a project on which I would have the honor of redesigning an existing book that I grew up enjoying. The most crucial part of design involves the rough sketches and getting all those ideas out onto a page. I like to start with a mindmap and insiration page before I break down some concepts with multiple directions to pull towards.
Within design, there is also illustration. Its a visual way of putting meaning to words, understanding complex ideas, and possibly a! Easter egg to viewers. In my case, geraniums without color is a major plot point of the novel. The moment that they gain their bright hue, the book shifts dramatically. I wanted my audience to understand and note that shift visually.
By pulling concept, direction, and illustration together with a soft balance of typography, I delivered a full render of the features needed to bring a novel the recognition it deserved, as shown here.
When it comes to design, a crucial part is pushing toward a selected demographic. When it comes to this project, our target demographic wasn’t just just kids, but also their parents to purchase a food product. There’s clearly a pattern to my production style, and I can’t go anywhere without a solid for step of skecthing everthing down. I made several initial pages for directions and ideas before deciding on a solid concept.
Design usually involves problem solving like with this project that involved an unconventional package form; in my case, that involved a cup, a lid, and a tab to work with. I like to involve mascots like a friendly capybara, especially of things that I enjoyed as a child, in my designs towards kids.
For the final part of this project, we produced and developed the product in real form.
