I tend to be a little animated and make a lot of puns!
I'm a hard worker with strong ties to family and community.
Since tiny, my notebook has always been my best friend
You might be wondering about the clams in my branding. when I was younger, people said my art was made "by Val," but I always heard it as "bivalve" and argued that "I'm Not a Clam!" Funnily enough, I decided to run with the joke and make it into my very brand!
Where the Daffodils grow, and the snails write their stories is where Valerie Peterman finds home. She found her artistic upbringing in public libraries and endless shelves of sketchbooks of her own small experience on the farm. She recalls the first time someone smiled at her art saying “it changed me,” and worked to chase that high that came with making art for clients. From then on, art was her only option toward the future, and continues to carry her through daily. It became important to understand the human experience and how using it could build up those around her with her works. There is a strange faith she has in simple people and raising their self-worth and confidence.
Valerie has been featured in her community for her works in Graphic Design, Pen and Ink, Digital Art, Animation, Web Design, Photography and Printmaking at galleries such as Southern Arkansas University and TECH, Magnolia Arts, Ouachita County Fair, and Frame of Mind. She seeks to be active in working with children and less fortunate in her community with organizations such as Ruby Snider Ministries Center and Food Pantry, Operation Christmas Child Shoeboxes, and Homeless Veterans in July Programs. She greatly enjoys working with Children’s Art Camps like Camp War Eagle, the Camden Fairview Event Center and Sparkman High School. She participates in international Art Competitions such as ArtFight as well as international commission work. As you can see from her resume, she enjoys a good pun.
Her goal has, and always will be to bring smiles to the faces of those who interact with her works as well as the children she helps to encourage on their creative journey.
A well-rounded artist seeking a position where my abilities may be utilized; because I am shore you can sea that I am dolphin-ately worth it! Comfortable working independently, online, and leading a team.
